Each year at Homecoming, the Associated Alumni give four awards honoring individuals who have achieved distinction in their profession and who have served the university with dedication. Criteria for selection are as follows:

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD
The purpose of the award os to recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves in their vocation - business, professional, or otherwise - and demonstrated concern for and service to their community.
Furthermore, the award seeks to recognize individuals who have shown repeated loyalty to and support of the university and whose position of stature and importance has brought favorable attention and recognition to the University of the South.

DISTINGUISHED YOUNG ALUMNI
The purpose of the Distinguished Young Alumni Award is to recognize individuals who have graduated within the past 15 years and who have distinguished themselves in their vocation - business, professional, or otherwise - and demonstrated concern for and service to their community.
Furthermore, the award seeks to recognize individuals who have shown repreated loyalty to and support of the university.

DISTINGUISHED FACULTY/STAFF AWARD
This is the highest honor awarded a faculty or staff member by the Associated Alumni. It is given to a member of the faculty or staff who has demonstrated leadership and a sincere interest in the further well-being of the students of the university and has been supportive of the Associated Alumni.

JOHN R. CRAWFORD, C'28, DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI SERVICE AWARD
The John R. Crawford, C'28, Distinguished Alumni Service Award recognizes faithful, dedicated, and long-standing volunteer service to the work of the university and the Associated Alumni.
