Class of 1957

  • Oscar Fowler, C'57, is retiring - from the Management Department of the College of Business Administration at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He joined the faculty in 1971, and has, for the last 16 years been the Head of the Department of Management. He plans to stay in Knoxville, and will try to put into practice what he's been teaching all these years, working with his son's manufacturing business - Rocky Tops Marble and Granite, Inc.

    Class of 1966

  • W. Michael Fagan, C'66, a Northwest Airlines first officer and resident of Gulf Breeze, Fla., was awarded a Superior Airmanship Award by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) for helping to prevent a potentially catastrophic aircraft accident, and in the process, saving hundreds of lives on Oct. 9, 2002. The award was presented on August 21 during the Association’s annual Air Safety Forum.

  • Stacy Haines (C'66) is an Honors and AP English teacher at Desert View High School in "the barrio" of Tucson, AZ. He also returned to tennis, and built one of the most successful high school tennis programs in the southwest (see the website: http://www.angelfire.com/az3/goladyjags ) His players have been featured in The New York Times, Latina, Guideposts, and on NBC, Fox Sports, and Telemundo. Best of all, daughter Kiersten recently presented him with his first grandchild, Alexa Nicole.

  • Lawrence Stevens, C'68, is a Reserve sergeant major with the public affairs office of the Coalition Forces Land Component Command, which has responsibility for all ground forces in Northeast Africa, the Persian Gulf, Southwest Asia and Central Asia. He was called to active duty in September 2001. He served in Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan before being sent to Kuwait in January to handle media relations at Camp Arifjan during the buildup to the war.

    Class of 1970

  • Alec Moseley, C'70, participated proudly in the May 31 wedding of his daughter, Anna, to Jeff Gissing. They live in Birmingham, where Jeff is a student at Cumberland Law School and Anna received a Master's degree in Theological Studies on May 24 from the Beeson School of Divinity.

  • Mike Scarborough, C'80, was appointed Master-in-Equity for Charleston County (judge) in Charleston by the legislative delegation.

  • Ned R. Murray C'84 was officially installed as the Head of the Episcopal Day School in Augusta, GA. The installation service was held at The Church of the Good Shepherd.

    Chuck Beal, C'85, had another daughter, Alison Walker Beal, born on 2/7/03. She was welcomed home by Lucy, age 4, and Katie, age 2.

  • Sage Smith Rhodes, C'86, and her husband Rob, joyfully announce the arrival of Josphine Ruth Rhodes, "Ruthie", on May 8, 2003.

  • Polly Law Rembert (C'86) and Mark Rembert (C'86) announce the birth of their son, Eric Law Rembert, on 4/13/03.

  • Stephen Johnson, C'87, and his wife Heather are proud to announce the birth of their first child, Stephen Thomas Johnson, on July 30, 2003.

    Class of 1989

  • Laura and George Steelman live in Millburn, New Jersey with their sons Nicholas (5 yrs) and Nathaniel (2 yrs). George works as a Fixed Income Trader at CommerzBank Capital Markets Corporation; Laura has left her position at the University of Texas to pursue a second career in medicine.

  • Abigail McCord Baldwin was born March 15, 2003 to The Rev. Robert Baldwin and Ms. Valerie McCord C'90. The McCord/Baldwins now live in Piqua, Ohio where Rob is the rector of St. James Episcopal Church.

  • Anna Beasnett Graham, C'90, accepted a new job as Deputy Director of Development for the Knoxville Museum of Art. She and her husband, Shawn, C'89, live in Maryville, TN.

  • Duke Richey (C 90) and his wife, Sarah, announce the birth of a daughter, Emelia Foerster Richey, on September 3, 2003, in Boulder, Colorado. Duke teaches American History at the University of Colorado and is writing his Ph.D. dissertation on the cultural and environmental changes in Aspen since the town's ski era began in the late 1930s.

  • Michael Odom, C'91, married Marianna Crockett on July 26, 2003, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Florence, Alabama. They live in Birmingham, Alabama, where Michael practices law.

  • Lynda Hodgson, Class of 1991 continues teaching English at Saratoga Springs High School. She recently purchased a home in Saratoga. Anyone interested in the races at Saratoga and seeing if Funny Cide can take home the Travers, let her know.

  • Christina Reid Douglas, C'92 and her husband Andy welcomed a daughter, Sophia Irene, born on Mother's Day, May 11, 2003.

  • Beth (Stocks), C'92 and Andy, C'92, Keyse are proud to announce the birth of Siras Andrew Keyse on August 20, 2003. He weighed 7 lbs and 2 ounces.

  • Parmele Price Calame had Thomas Caldwell Calame Jr on May 8, 2003. Parmele is a partner in the law firm of Poyner and Spruill in Charlotte NC. She lives with husband (93) Caldwell and daughter Sadie Charles (2).

  • Sarah DeLoney Terry, C'93, is now working as a travel nurse in Phoenix. After starting in 2000, she has been an employee in Baltimore (six months at Johns Hopkins), Philadelphia, Silver Spring, Maryland, Brownsville and Houston, Texas, and Tucson.

  • Tiffany (Moore), C'93, and her husband Mark Copen, are proud to announce the birth of Addison Ashe Copen on August 23, 2003. He weighed in at 9lbs 6oz and 21 1/2 inches long.

  • Elizabeth Tindal Harbison, C'93 and her husband Rob Harbison, C'93, are proud to announce the birth of their second daughter, Catherine Carol Harbison, born on January 24, 2003.

  • From Columbia, Tenn., Jason Beck, C'94, is an Army Reservist serving as the executive officer for the 372nd Mobile Public Affairs Detachment from Nashville. His unit was mobilized in February.

  • Carl ('94) and Lisa Cravens had their first baby. Her name is Mary Nelle Cravens and she was born on June 3rd, 2003. They continue to live in Arlington, TX where Carl works with JPMorgan Chase. Lisa is now a full time mom since retiring from her third grade teaching career. They see Brad Mall ('95) and his wife, Leigh, quite often and recently enjoyed cooking all the fish Brad caught at Chris Cenak's place in Grand Isle, LA.

  • Katherine Mahon Robinson, C'95, and her husband, Frank, have a two year old daughter Kate.

  • Kate (Depew) Roark (c'95) and David Roark (c'95) welcomed their first child William Joseph Roark on May 18, 2003. William was 8 lbs 12 ozs and 21 1/2 inches long. Kate and David are both currently attending the University of Illinois in Urbana -- Kate is working on a Ph.D. in theatre history and David on a Masters degree in English.

  • Traci Minette Solomon, C '95, wed Michael Christopher Guidry on May 24, 2003. They bought a house just east of Austin in a little town called Manor. Traci also accepted a new position as Director of Public Affairs with the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented. Her husband is a chef and owns a catering business.

  • Emily Sprouse Leslie, class of 1995, will begin the MBA Program at NC State University in the fall of 2003 while continuing to work as a scientist at GlaxoSmithKline.

  • Berkeley Brown and her husband Stewart recently moved to Dallas, Texas. He has taken a job as the women's assistant soccer coach at Southern Methodist University. Berkeley will be teaching Latin at Greenhill School and coaching field hockey as well.

  • Mary Claire Drummond and David William Strowd were married July 12, 2003. Sarah Henning Lannan and Lauren Keith Goslin, both of the class of 1996, were bridesmaids.

  • Niklas Hultin married Megan Tracy in Philadelphia in August of 2002. He received an LLM degree in human rights from Queen's University Belfast in Northern Ireland in 2002. Both Niklas and Megan are working on their PhDs from the University of Pennsylvania. They currently split their time between Beijing, China, and the US East Coast.


  • John McCallum, '97, and Rob Rhoden, '96, met up during the Toronto Street Festival in July.

  • Steven Bruce proposed to his fiance Sue Fredericks by a river gorge in Ronda Spain on June 30 2003, and also finished his first year at Harvard Business School.

  • After graduating in 1997, Trace Roquemore joined the Army in 2000. His military schooling includes Airborne School and PLDC (Primary Leadership Development Course). He is currently stationed in the 18th Airborne Corps at Ft. Bragg, NC. He has a wife, Jennifer, and a 3 yr. old daughter, Lauren (born March 26, 2000). Presently a sergeant, he is awaiting OCS.

  • Abigail Johnston Cudabac (C'98) and Chris Cudabac (C'96) have recently bought a house just south of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Abigail has just accepted a job as Testing Coordinator for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.

  • Alex Hartz (C'97) and Helen Comer (C'98) were married at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville, TN, on May 17, 2003. The couple currently lives in Nashville where Alex is a residential construction lender for Regions Bank and Helen is pursuing her MBA at Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management.

  • Ryland Moore summitted Denali in Alaska, the tallest mountain in North America at 20,320', on May 29th, the 50th anniversary of the first summit of Everest. He and his team spent 14 days getting to the summit and 2 days to descend.

  • Corey Brown, C' 99 lives in Washington, D.C. where she attends The George Washington University. She is earning her Masters in Education and was selected recently as the Department Fellow by GW's Graduate School of Education and Human Development.
  • Dexter England, C'99, married Peter Meath on June 7, 2003.

  • Forrest Jessee, C'99, was accepted to the Architectural Association in London to work on his Masters in Architecture.

  • Kristine Reynolds, C'00 married Eric L. Koehler of Winston-Salem, NC on May 17, 2003. He is a graduate of Clemson University and they are currently living in Norcross, GA. They were married in the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Clearwater, FL. Bridesmaids included Amy Atcheson and Katherine Crook (both Sewanee graduates and Class of 2000).

  • Rashmi Becker (C'00) married Andrew Grace on August 24, 2002 in their hometown of Huntsville, AL. Alumni Martha Lynn Coon (C'00), Katherine Doss (C'00), Rachel Foreman (C'00), Kelly Jarrett (C'00), and Kari Palmintier Price (C'99) were in the wedding party. Rashmi and Andrew are currently pursuing masters degrees at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Rashmi in Geology and Andrew in American Studies.

  • Victoria Tuck Jeffries, C'00, married Rico Jeffries on June 10th, 2002. She gave birth to their daughter, Emilie Michele, on March 23rd, 2003.

  • Lonsdale Green, C'00, left her job at Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) in Washington, DC, and has moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts. She will be studying for a Masters degree in Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

  • Bill McKnight, C'01, won the gold metal at the Mens' C-1 World Kayak Rodeo Championship on May 31, 2003, in Graz, Austria. He is currently living in Washington, D. C.

  • Suzanne Garrett, C'01 graduated May 17, 2003 from The University of Texas at Austin with a master's in special education. A week later on May 23, 2003 she married John Allen in Senoia, GA. Suzanne and John now reside in Austin, TX where they are building a home.

    Class of 2002

  • Ryan Boylan, C'02, is living in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia and attending Georgia State University attempting his hand at a Master's Degree in Spanish. He has also recently gotten engaged, on May 16th, to Stephanie Leigh Martin, of Rome, Ga, and they are planning a June 2005 wedding.

  • Katy Cofer, C'02, is living in Memphis, TN, where she is attending the Southern College of Optometry. She expects to graduate and begin practicing in May 2007.

  • T. Austin Lacy, Jr (C' 01) and Eleanor Katherine Fleming (C'02) were married at St. Mary's Oratory in Rockford, Il. on June 21, 2003. They currently reside in Orlando, Florida.

  • Dustyn Rowland, C'03, married Sheena Hudgens, on July 26, 2003.
