  • John A. Hamilton C'42 and a few of his family members are hopeful of attending his 60th reunion in October 2002.

  • John Foster C'52 and his wife, Bette, are looking forward to attending his 50th class reunion in October.

  • John H. Wright, Jr. C'54 is a retired Headmaster. He is now enjoying traveling, gardening, and helping to restore a church in Mobile, AL.

  • Robert L. Gaines C'60 is excited that his son, Robert Gaines, Jr., is applying to Sewanee this fall.

  • Robert L. Howland, Jr. C'60 is the proud father of newly adopted daughter, Hannah. She is 1 year old. She joins children Leah, Lynn, & Rob, step-children Taylor & Kelly, and grandchildren Catherine, Mary Louise, and Andrew.

  • Alfred Miller III C'64 and his wife are the proud grandparents of Alfred V "Quinn" and Mary Elizabeth "Mandy" and proud parents of Matt Miller, 2001 graduate of University of Florida.

  • Stephen Reynolds C'66 has a son at Sewanee, Wade is C'2004.

  • Sam Moss C'67 is Dean of Studies and College Guidance at Darlington School. He has been named Associate Headmaster.

    Class of 1969

  • Wally McCall is having a book of poetry published this summer entitled Armadillo Armage and Other Collected Poems.

    Class of 1970

  • Joseph Barker C'70 proudly states his affection for Sewanee is as strong as ever.

  • Dick Landrum C'70 brought us up to date on his busy family. His daughter Beppy finished law school, his son Ty is working on PhD in Philosphy, and his daughter Kelly took the CPA exam in May.

    Class of 1971

  • Chris Lambrecht C'71 says he is enjoying late additions to the family. Jacob Preston was born in 1998 and will soon be joined by a brother in May.

  • W. A. (Pete) Stringer C'71 has enjoyed serving on the Board of Trustees with his daughter and student trustee, Marie C'02.

  • Jim Harper C'76 just completed 2 years as founding president of Friends of the Festival Inc., the non-profit producer of the Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Festival, one of the five largest such festivals in the United States.

    Class of 1977

  • Maibeth Porter C'77 was elected by Birmingham, Alabama's 3500 member Bar Association as its President for 2003.

    Class of 1979

  • Mary Eitel C'79 reports that her son, Hill age 13, earned a varsity letter in golf in the 6th grade. Now in the 7th grade, he is the star point guard on the undefeated 7th grade bastetball team.

  • Colonel Walter Douglas Givhan C'79 has been selected for a military fellowship at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York City.

  • Rob Campbell C'80 opened a second retail wine shop in April. He is enjoying life in the mounains of western North Carolina.

    Class of 1981

  • Michael Wakefield C'81 has a new additon to his family. His second son, Daniel, was born December 6, 2001.

  • Georgia Herpel C'83 was elected to Vestry of Christ Church in Philadelphia, the oldest Anglican church in the city.

  • R. Stan Runnels T'83 has accepted a Merrill Fellowship at harvard for the fall semester of 2002. He will continue as rector at St. John's in Laurel, MS. His daughter, Laura, is a rising junior at yale. His daughter, Erin, will be a freshman at UT-Knoxville this fall, and Sarah will be in he 8th grade. His wife is busy with work at the local hospital and keeping track of her family.

  • Dan colella C'84 had a son, Henry, born on November 1, 2000 and a second baby will be here August 2002.

  • Sallie Horton Sheppard C'84 is staying very busy these days with her three year old twin daughters, Sarah & Anna.

    Class of 1985

  • Dr. Todd Votteler C'85 is on the go in Austin working, teaching, and writing his first book on water.

  • Laurie Benjamin C'85 and her husband, Baron, have semi-retired to Gulf Shores, AL.

  • H. Griffith Garner wants to let everyone know that if they are planning a trip to Wilmington, NC or Myrtle Beach, SC they should get in touch with him for some great seafood.

  • Patricia Morton McLemore C'86 and her husband, Lee, welcomed a new additon to their family. Their son, Scout, was born on March 4, 2002. He was welcomed home by LeGrand age 7 1/2, Morton age 6, and Kate age 2.

  • Ann Catharine Reeves C'87 is now living in Selma, AL with husband Allen and daughters Lizzie age 7 and Anne Smith age 5.

  • Mary (Polly) Phillips Link gave birth to her third daughter, Clara Phillips Link, on April 7, 2001. Her other children are Anne Stuart Link 4/13/93 and Emma Grey Link 11/26/95.

  • Randall Lancaster C'87 is and American and British Literature teacher at Father Ryan High School in Nashville, TN. Randall was selected as one of 15 national recipients of the National Endowment for the Humanities Grants to study DANTE for six weeks in Italy during the summer.

    Class of 1988

  • Brian and Emily Acker C'88 welcomed their third child, Ethan Acker, on 1/15/02. Big brother Adam is 9 and sister Annie is 5.

  • Margaret Loftin Williams C'88 was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2001. She had surgery in July and chemotherapy followed her surgery. Amy Denman Weisz, also Class of 1988, came in September to man the ship during chemotherapy and took good care of the family. Everything looks great now - friends are incredible and God is so good!

  • Nicci Brown C'89 just celebrated her son's birthday, Wyatt Ray turned 1 year old.

  • Shawn Graham C'89 is now serving as a member of the stewardship commission for the Diocese of East Tennessee. Shawn and his wife, Anna C'90, have a daughter Meredith who just celebrated her 2nd birthday on February 4, 2002.

  • Sarah Sitton Wilson C'89 and her husband, James P. Wilson III, C'73 had a son, Felix Sitton Wilson, born August 20, 2000.

  • Laura Jane Pittman C'89 is very busy these days raising her family with her husband, Alfred Buckner Pittman IV, C'90. They have three children - Heather 6 1/2, Lily 3 1/2, and Will was born on 9/18/01.

  • Joy Archer Yeager C'89 is enjoying her two daughters, Melanie Kate and Holly, and continues to work part-time as a freelance legal editor for West Group Publishing.

  • Jennie MacGregor Davis C'90 and her husband, Joe, had a son born on July 25, 2001. John MacGregor Davis was welcomed by his big sister, Katie.

    Class of 1991

  • Walt Turner C'91 will be graduating from UT Dallas with a PhD in Humanities. This fall he will join the faculty at Bethany College in West Virginia as an Assistant Professor of English.

  • Albie Dickson C'91 and her husband, Timothy, welcomed a new addition to the family. Campbell Eltzroth Dickson joined his brothers, Mac and Brody on March 15, 2001.

  • James Weston C'91 married Kristen Cosgrove on September 22, 2001 in Cashiers, North Carolina.

  • Bradford Ladd C'91 and wife Francie (C'92) had a baby girl on May 25, 2002. They have named her Frances Campbell Ladd and will be called Campbell. She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz.

  • Cynthia Bradley C'91 is teaching Latin and French and is also working at dot.com as comptroller in CA.

  • Katherine Woody West C'91 and her husband, Walt, had their first child. Jonathan Palmer West was born on October 9, 2001.

  • Beth Galligan C'92 is moving to Kansas to work in Vet Teaching Hospital's Community Practice teaching vet students and developing community awareness.

  • Dr. Michael R. Lewis C'92 and his wife, Courtney, have three girls (Emma 4 y/o and twins Grace and Lilley 2 y/o). Michael is finishing 6 months of residency and will be joining a private practice in Otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) in Tyler, TX.

  • Merri Shaw Collins C'92 and her husband, Reid, had a baby boy on February 4, 2002. Isasc Reid Collins weighed 8 lbs. and 12 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.

  • The Rev. Robert Nagy T'94 will be Rector at Trinity Church in Portsmouth, VA effective May 1.

  • Pam Mason Jenkins C'94 and her husband, Shannon, had a son. Rivers Francis Pierce Jenkins was born on May 16, 2001 and was welcomed by his sister, Lily age 2. Lily is a student at Sewanee Children's Center.

  • Linnae Peterson C'95 is now Lay Pastoral Associate at St. Barnabas' Episcopal Church in Wilmington, DE.

    Class of 1996

  • Julie Almendral C'96 is currently pursuiing documentary work in New York.

    Class of 1998

  • Douglass Adair is in a branch management training program at SouthTrust Bank in Birmingham, AL.

  • Robert Craige Hoover C'98 founded his own theatre company last year in Seaside, Florida.

    Class of 1999

  • Berenice Le Marchand C'99 is a PhD candidate in the French and Italian Department at Vanderbilt.

  • Laura Brooke Gibson C'99 recently returned from 15 months in South America where she taught English in Santiago, Chile for one year and then backpacked through Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. She is now living in Charlotte, NC and is beginning a career in real estate.

  • Elizabeth Dooley C'99 and Sam McLamb will be married in Sewanee on June 29, 2002.

  • Jeremiah Murphy C'99 is currently living in Astoria, Queens and is working at Jekyll & Hyde as an actor.

  • Mary E. Koppel C'99 is now officially The Rev. Mary Koppel. She was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate of the Episcopal Church on December 27 at Christ Church Cathedral in New Orleans. She graduated from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary on May 31, 2002. In June, Mary began work at St. Martin's Church and was ordained to the Episcopal Priesthood in July.

  • Anthony Petrochko C'200 has been employed by Aspect Communications in Brentwood, TN since June 2000 supporting software and training clients across the country. He spends his free time playing with his kids, Emma and Henry. Anthony and his family will be moving to a new house in Spring Hill, TN soon.

    Class of 2001

  • Severin Carlson C'2001 is enrolled at Willawette College of Law in Salem, OR. He will be attending a summer session at East China University of Politics & Law in Shanghai, PRC.

  • Russell Mainard C'2001 was recently hired as the News Editor of the Grundy County Herald.
